Actress blows Ass Creed story
Er, spoilers! Obviously.
Actress Kristen Bell appears to have done what Ubisoft's been trying to avoid, and told everyone exactly what's going on behind the scenes in Assassin's Creed.
Up to now, we've been told that the game sees players flitting around during the Crusades, crawling all over rooftops and blending into the crowd on the way to popping various marks.
But that's not really what's going on, says Bell. Instead, it's some sort of mad brain game being perpetrated by scientists. So, yes, look away if you don't want to know.
"It's actually really interesting to me," Bell told IGN during a TV interview. "It's sort of based on the research that's sort of happening now, about the fact that your genes might be able to hold memory.
"And you could argue semantics and say it's instinct, but how does a baby bird know to eat a worm, as opposed to a cockroach, if its parents don't show it?" Yes, and how does a cat know how to get out of a bag?
"And it's about this science company trying to, Matrix-style, go into peoples brains and find out an ancestor who used to be an assassin, and sort of locate who that person is," she said of the game, for which she's doing voice work.
Ubisoft's yet to comment on any of that, but expect to find out whether it's true or not sometime soon - the full game's due out on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year.
