PS3 back-compat update
Hard disk games now work.
Sony has released a little backwards compatibility update for the PlayStation 3, allowing US and Japanese gamers to play PS2 titles that require use of the hard disk.
The update comes in the form of another firmware patch, to version 1.31, which can either be downloaded from Sony's support site or collected via the System Update menu on the Cross Media Bar.
If you've actually got a PS3 (I only seem to turn mine on to install firmware updates), you can keep track of which PS2 games work by using Sony's online search tool.
And if you're not bothered about hard disk-based PS2 titles, you can probably ignore this one - unless of course you missed the 1.30 update, which introduced things like support for the BD-ROM remote control accessory, among other things.
