Resi simultaneously on PS3/360?
If possible.
Keiji Inafune has told the Japanese press that he imagines Resident Evil 5 will ship simultaneously on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Speaking to Xbox360ism (the appallingly-named Dorimaga special edition dedicated, we're guessing, to the 360 launch on Saturday), the Capcom R&D division chief said, "We want to grow the Resident Evil series into a multi-platform franchise, so we hope to release it simultaneously."
"But since we don't know the launch period for the PS3 yet, it's hard to say," he said in comments reported by GameSpot.
Capcom Eurosoft had nothing to add this morning, but we get the impression that Infaune's basically just saying what makes sense at the moment. If PS3 launches after the game's complete, things might change; if someone runs at him with a money hat, things might change; if an Xbox 360 kills his cat, things might change.
But still, it's another assurance that Capcom is paying due attention to the Xbox 360, which it's already supporting with exclusive titles including Dawn of the Dead-inspired horror action game Dead Rising.
