Sproing goes Undercover on DS
Dual-character adventure game.
Austrian developer Sproing and German publisher Anaconda have announced plans to release Undercover: Dual Motives, a new adventure title for Nintendo DS that tells the back-story of one of the central characters in PC point-and-clicker Undercover: Operation Wintersun.
Op Wintersun has only just come out in German-language territories, but Dual Motives should make it out worldwide following its German release at the end of March next year, and as a prequel you shouldn't have too much trouble following events even if you've no experience of the progenitor.
In Dual Motives, players take control of "physicist and reluctant spy" Dr John Russell, who's busy investigating something or other at a British research facility. In the spirit of the platform, not only will you control Russell using the stylus on the touch-screen, but you'll be able to switch between him and the facility-director's secretary Audrey, a second playable character, at any time. Whichever you're not using will appear dormant on the top-screen, ready to spring into action as needs must.
Naturally the idea is that despite their separation, Russell and Audrey will be able to combine forces to solve puzzles, and track down whatever it is they're looking for. We'll let you know how it turns out - the DS could do with a few more adventure games.
