Eurogamer set to relaunch
We've made some changes.
As you may have noticed, Eurogamer's been pretty busy lately. We've brought on new staff (yes, they're real), produced more content than ever, and have been able to shove more ads all over the place as a result (which, as you know, is fairly helpful in making sure the website's there the next day). But, as we roll past the two-year anniversary of the last time we redesigned the site, it's time for a change. On Monday, Eurogamer will relaunch with a new design - in several senses.
Don't worry. The site will remain fundamentally the same. Same writers, same stupid jokes (like bracket comments which span for much longer than the sentence they're invading and don't actually add all that much or culminate in a punchline), same intelligent discussion of games (guest columns, then), same basic layout functions and user options, and above all the same sense of fun. We like games. You like games. We want to like them together.
But there will be some big changes too, making things a lot easier to find and giving us the chance to try out new content ideas besides news and features. You'll see what we mean on Monday and hopefully, whether or not you start off liking it, you'll grow to agree that it's a change for the better.
Or you'll send us emails saying you're never coming back. Some of our most prolific comment posters did that last time we relaunched. We lured them back with "Better Than Halo" thongs.
We'll take more time to explain what we're up to and why we've done things on Monday, but for now we suggest you get the camera out and pose next to the front page, because, for some of you, this will be the last time you see it looking the way it does now. Don't be sad though. Eurogamer is here for the long haul, and we're going to work harder and harder in the coming months to make sure you're getting what you want out of it.
