Sony US announces more titles
Three new games for PS2 and PSP to look forward to from the good old SCE of A.
Sony America has revealed the first details of two new PSP titles and a PS2 game currently in development, and gone on a bit more about three games it's already mentioned.
PS2 owners can look forward to Neopets: The Darkest Faerie, a 3D action adventure based on the Neopets.com website. A sort of Pokémon online, it's said to receive more than seven billion page views a month, ranking it "among the top 10 stickiest sites on the Internet." We can guess what the other nine are.
The game is slated for an August release, and it'll be followed in November by Neopets: Petpet Adventures - The Wand of Wishing, an action RPG for PSP that involves the usual quest-pursuing and item-collecting. There is a wide selection of petpet characters to choose from, and you can sick them on each other in the Battledrome via the PSP's wireless capability.
Also for PSP there's The Con, an "innovative 3D fighting game based on an underworld where illegal fighting tournaments exist and high-stakes gambling takes centre stage." The first rule, etc.
You can create, customise and train your fighter to battle it out either solo or in a team of up to three, and there are five different fighting styles to master - boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, tae kwon do and jeet kune do.
There's also a Story Mode that lets you bet on matches and even hustle your fellow gamblers, and you can deck it out wirelessly in head-to-head battles. The Con is due out in October.
In other news, previously announced PS2 title Genji: Dawn of the Samurai is coming out in the US too, as is Sony Cambridge's first handheld effort under the name of MediEvil Resurrection. Wanda and the Colossus, the new adventure puzzler from the people who brought us ICO, has been renamed Shadow of the Colossus - the name it already carries in Europe.
Sony will no doubt reveal more details of all the games at E3, when it's not too busy proudly showing off its new baby, so expect more news then.
