Weekly PAL Releases Roundup
All is not Lost. But several are.
There are three games with "Lost" in the title this week, and you can find them all in shops, just as surely as my Xbox 360 can't seem to find the last 46 percent of the movie I'm trying to download from the uselessly slow Xbox Live Video Marketplace. I hadn't planned to moan about that, but there you go. Or don't, if you're using Xbox Live Video Marketplace. If you suddenly find that this page disappears and all you see is a spinning circle of lights followed by an error message, then [they get the point - Ed].
So, we're two months into 2008. Last year has been described as one of the best ever for games. Sid Meier said last week that we're in a "golden age" of gaming. Mark Rein complained that Unreal Tournament III - which is merely excellent - was up against half a dozen equally good if not better alternatives in the FPS genre alone. Which got me wondering: what's the best game of 2008 so far? Is it UT3 on PS3? Burnout Paradise? The Club? Is it actually a PS2 game, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3? Is it Rez HD? Or is there something else you're enjoying? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments; that should give me something to do for the next little while, which would be great, since I'm still stuck at 54 perce--[stop that - Ed].
March, as you may have noticed, is pretty interesting. There's Army of Two, Bully: Scholarship Edition, No More Heroes, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, and God of War: Chains of Olympus for PSP. And then there are unpredictable elements like Viking: Battle for Asgard, SEGA Superstars Tennis and Condemned 2. But what's really annoying, as I'm sure you agree, is that if you go to Active Downloads and it says "Ready To Play" and you don't realise that means it's still got 46 percent left to download, you then have just 24 hours to watch what you've got and hope it fini--[sorry, I was distracted - again, stop that - Ed].
