Konami postpones PES 2020 Euro 2020 update
Extra time.
Konami has delayed the Euro 2020 update for PES 2020. It was due to come out on 30th April.
The real-life Euro 2020 tournament, which was due to take place this summer, was postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
As a result of this and the closure of Konami's Japan office, Konami has now delayed the Euro 2020 DLC, and cancelled plans to release a physical version of PES 2020 with a Euro 2020 cover.
Konami insisted the planned PES 2020 DLC will come out eventually, and its Euro 2020 esports tournament will continue this year, with a final pencilled in for 23rd-24th May. This tournament was planned to host finals in London in July, but it will now take place online.
Euro 2020 was due to be held this July, but UEFA has now proposed it be held from 11th June to 11th July 2021. Konami said anyone who owns PES 2020 will still be able to get the free update when it is eventually released via a data pack. But given PES 2021 is expected to come out later in 2020, the question is, will the Euro 2020 DLC also release for that game to coincide with the real-life tournament's proposed new date?
