Jade Raymond hints at Assassin's Creed on portables
As DS listing hits retailer.
Assassin's Creed producer Jade Raymond has dropped a big hint that the highly anticipated stealth game could branch out onto handheld platforms.
"We want to make a real plan where you can make a game, you make a book, you know, maybe other types of portable games that have complementary experiences," Raymond told Eurogamer TV at UbiDays recently.
At the time the comment seemed quite innocuous, but it was thrown into fresh light this week when US retailer GameStop posted an Assassin's Creed DS product listing.
Raymond had been confirming that the game is not directly linked to any existing Ubisoft series, despite the dev team's continual hints that everything is not as it seems in the game's Third Crusade setting.
Despite running its own worldwide press events last month, Ubisoft is actually planning to unveil Assassin's Creed for PS3 and Xbox 360 in playable form at a press event to coincide with E3 next month.
We did get to spend some time with Raymond at UbiDays though as she talked us through the game's current state, and you can see more of that in the latest Eurogamer TV Show, set to air tomorrow.
