Injustice 2 announced - here's the first trailer
Fight!
Warner Bros just announced Injustice 2, the next fighting game from the people behind Mortal Kombat. It's due out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017.
Warner failed to mention a PC version, which perhaps isn't surprising given the publisher's recent troubled past on the platform.
The hook with Injustice 2, which features DC superheroes and supervillains, is that you can "build and power up" the characters.
You can personalise DC characters with gear earned throughout the game, Warner said. So, you can tweak how the characters look, fight and develop across game modes.
This Gear System uses role-playing game mechanics to reward players with loot drops every time you play the game. Each loot drop gives you character-specific gear for your roster. From the official blurb:
There's a story, too, as you'd expect from a NetherRealm fighting game. Here, Batman and his chums fight against Superman's regime. Playable characters include Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Aquaman and The Flash, as well as new villains such as Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. Arenas include Metropolis, Gotham City and Atlantis.
