id Software: Doom 4 will be "done when it's done"
Doom 3 BFG Edition trailer is set in hell, but looks heavenly.
id Software co-founder John Carmack didn't offer much hope for a timely release of Doom 4 at QuakeCon earlier today where he said that it will be "done when it's done."
As reported by Kotaku, the famed designer noted that id has shifted their attention away from mobile to put all hands on deck on for the much-anticipated sequel. "Essentially everybody will be focused on Doom 4," said Carmack.
"I hope that we do get back to mobile in various ways in the future, but the real aim is blockbuster triple-A titles, and for id that means Doom 4," he explained.
In the meantime, a new trailer for Doom 3 BFG Edition's Lost Missions kicked off QuakeCon.
The trailer teases the eight new levels exclusive to the Doom 3 BFG Edition due on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on 16th October. See it in action below.
Now, who wants to place bets on what will come out first, Half-Life 2: Episode 3 or Doom 4?
