High Voltage's Grinder still Wii-bound
In addition to PS3 and 360 adaptations.
High Voltage Software has said that it would still like to release zombie shooter The Grinder on Wii.
The game was revealed last May as a Left 4 Dead-style romp exclusively for the Nintendo format.
Confusion arose, however, when High Voltage recently unveiled a top-down third-person Grinder game for PS3 and Xbox 360 without updating anyone on the Wii version.
"The expansion of Grinder to 360 and PS3 and its subsequent change in gameplay and perspective has been somewhat misinterpreted as a universal change across all platforms," studio bigwig Eric Nofsinger told IGN.
"We still genuinely love the Wii and would ideally like to see a publishing partner pick up both a FPS Wii version and a third-person action version specific to the 360 and PS3."
Nofsinger said High Voltage had changed genre for PS3 and Xbox 360 to avoid the "rainbow chasing treadmill" of trying to make the three versions the same.
High Voltage launched The Conduit on Wii last summer to lukewarm reviews. Nevertheless, High Voltage remains committed to bringing PS3 and 360-style games to Nintendo's console. The Conduit 2 was confirmed yesterday, and gory arena battler Tournament of Legends will be unleashed in July.
