High-res Dragon Age 3 screenshots shows Inquisition
Tevinter is coming.
A lone screenshot from Dragon Age: Inquisition (AKA Dragon Age 3) has surfaced on the BioWare blog.
It shows a lady facing her closed-helmed troops, shaping as if to jam the dagger she's holding into the broad wooden desk before her. It's a scene we saw in the trailer BioWare aired at E3.
That trailer boasted "actual game footage", and on closer scrutiny there's nothing in the screenshot that appears too demanding for next-gen consoles and PC to render in real-time. Nevertheless, it's probably a cut-scene of sorts. And whether the PS3 and Xbox 360 will be able to replicate that level of fidelity I'm not so sure.
The lady in the screenshot bears the logo of the Inquistion: a sword through an eye. This is the order that you will control in Dragon Age: Inquisition as you attempt to end the war between Magi and Templars and bring peace to the world of Ferelden.
The lady is almost certainly Cassandra Pentaghast, she who interrogated Varric and therefore heard all of Hawke's story during Dragon Age 2. She was a Seeker back then, a kind of special agent that answered directly to the head of the world's religious order, the Chantry.
Perhaps it's with her that you will found and run The Inquisition.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is powered by Frostbite 3 and is due for release on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in autumn 2014.
The "3" was dropped from the title to draw attention to the focus of the game and to distance it from being a follow-on story in the series, EA's Frank Gibeau explained to IGN.
