Gravity Crash Ultra launches in July on Vita
Lets you build levels and share them with the PS3 original.
Oddworld developer Just Add Water's upcoming twin-stick arcade shooter remake, Gravity Crash Ultra, is coming to Vita this July.
A remake of its 2009 PS3 affair, Gravity Crash, this "Ultra" rendition has been "reworked from the ground up" to support enhanced graphics and lighting, 60 fps, and it adds all new content like more ships and stages.
Furthermore, players will be able to create their own levels - which is now a touchscreen-friendly process - and share them with the original game on PS3.
"I'm very proud with what we've achieved in the last year," said Just Add Water CEO Stewart Gilray. "After seeing what the PlayStation Vita can do with previous projects, it seems the obvious choice to bring JAW's first ever PlayStation title bang up to date. Gravity Crash Ultra is exactly the type of game I love, and any fan of retro-shooters will do too."
Our reviews editor Oli Welsh was less than enthused about the original Gravity Crash upon its original release half a decade ago. "The charm, ambition, imagination and fine execution of Q-Games' effort - or of something like Geometry Wars - shows how to make retro gaming relevant in a way Gravity Crash can't muster," he wrote in his Gravity Crash review. Could the new enhancements radically transform it?
