Gran Turismo 5 Prologue top of grid

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has - yes, that's right - raced to the top of the UK charts.

It's the fastest-selling PS3 game over one week, thumping Rainbow Six Vegas 2 down into second.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympics still has air in its lungs at three, followed by resurgent sales for Pro Evolution Soccer - thanks to the Wii version and the advert with Ian 'Down with play-stations and computers'Wright and Personality Owen.

Then comes Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock at five, which holds its game against a much improved serve and volley approach from SEGA Superstars Tennis - up from 10 to six.

Call of Duty 4 falls as far down as we have seen it to seven, but manages to keep distance between itself and newcomer Viking: Battle for Asgard at eight.

FIFA 08 takes nine, and Brain Training keeps earning solid grades to round the chart out at 10.

Other fresh entries this week are Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath at 16, and God of War: Chains of Olympus all the way down at 29.

MotorStorm has had lessons from Vin Diesel to rocket its way back into the charts at 17, Football Manager 2008 felt the boost of an Xbox 360 version to reach 23, and, thankfully, dreadful release Game Party tumbled from 19 to 32.

Those departing the top 40 this week were Frontlines: Fuel of War, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, Sight Training and Maths Training.
