How to sneak through The Walls of Yarikawa.
The Walls of Yarikawa is a short and relatively simple mission mid way through Ghost of Tsushima, but there's still some potential to get caught out in the sneaky phase early on.
With that in mind, on this page we'll explain the mission step by step, including how to sneak past the Mongol guards and find the secret entrance.

How to sneak past the guards in The Walls of Yarikawa mission in Ghost of Tsushima
We'll start at the beginning here: to start the mission off, meet up with Yuna near the Yarikawa Stronghold, and after the cutscene follow her and Taka to Yarikawa itself.
Figure out how to reach the Stronghold; don't alert the Mongols to your presence
Once you reach your destination, you'll need to do a spot of scouting. Point the camera at the indicated areas and press X when prompted to learn about a secret entrance Taka and Yuna used to use as kids.
Lead Yuna and Taka to the river; don't alert the Mongols to your presence
The secret entrance is accessed via the river, which is where you need to get to first. Here's how.
Follow the stone steps downhill to your right, then stop and wait for the guard on horseback to walk away from you down the road to the right hand side.
Cross the road and go through the big gap in the fence, but resist the urge to assassinate the two guards in front of you.
Instead just turn left, and use the pampas grass to sneak up on a third guard that's fiddling with a stack of barrels and give him a quick stab.
Then, quickly dart into the pampas grass up ahead by the river, and you're almost there.
Enter Yarikawa
Follow the river to the right, and a waypoint will appear. Continue under the bridge until you reach a waterfall on your left.
Walk up to the waterfall and interact with it when prompted to squeeze through a gap, into a secret tunnel.
Follow the tunnel, and you're in!
Follow the guard to the steward
Once inside, you'll need to follow the guard to meet the steward, where you're treated to a cutscene. Talk to Taka at the blacksmith shop afterwards to see the mission out. Good job.
