Gears 2 tops US chart for November
COD and Wii titles also doing well.
Gears of War 2 has topped the November software sales chart for the US, in what was a strong month for Xbox 360 games.
The Epic shooter shifted 1.51 million copies, according to NPD data, finishing just marginally above the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: World at War, which sold 1.41 million units.
Add the 597,000 World at War PS3 sales to that, and we have an overall winner. But let's not cheat.
Adding to the Xbox 360 cause was Left 4 Dead at eight with 410,000 units sold. No Steam or PC numbers included here, of course. But we do wonder, Valve.
The absence of PC numbers also knocks World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King out of the running, despite the impressive 1.4 million copies shifted.
The excellent Resistance 2 made the list at nine selling 385,000 copies.
But everywhere else was Wii. Familiar favourites Wii Play, Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii took three, four and five, respectively, with first-party newcomer Wii Music just about making 10.
Guitar Hero World Tour popped up on Wii at six, too, in a list absent of any Rock Band.
NPD reckoned all this shows videogames are "the category consumers are least likely to cut back on this holiday".
