Finally, we'll see new Zelda: Breath of the Wild gameplay this week
Back from the wilderness.
After a long wait since E3 in June, Nintendo will finally unleash a fresh look at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild this week.
New gameplay will be shown off during the Video Game Awards, which take place on Thursday, 1st December (although here in the UK the start time is actually 1.30am on the 2nd).
We will, of course, be reporting live.
The announcement comes just a week after two fan-made Nintendo games quietly disappeared from the award ceremony's Best Fan Game category.
Nintendo has only ever revealed one portion of the game. Here's hoping we get a peek beyond its lush starting plateau.
Last year's Video Game Awards showcased a detailed look at this area, which was then made available to play at E3. Suffice to say - we came away very impressed.
But Nintendo has recently elected to hold back on showing Breath of the Wild footage. We haven't seen anything new of the game in almost six months.
This may be because the game's release date is still up in the air. Eurogamer has heard Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not be ready for the Switch console's March launch, as many had expected.
"It's hard to think of any game which has refreshed a series so completely, and with so much style," I wrote on playing Breath of the Wild's E3 demo.
