Crossfire gets new name
Becomes Conflict: Denied Ops.
Eidos has decided to rename Crossfire to Conflict: Denied Ops, so that we all realise its the next instalment in the Conflict series.
Pivotal games will handling development again, and is aiming at a 2008 release on PS3, 360 and PC.
The shooter was unveiled at X06 last year, where we were told it was based around two agents carrying out objectives in today's politically sensitive areas of South America, Africa and Russia.
So you'll have to work together, seamlessly swapping between control of each operative to provide your own cover or explore diverging paths on levels. Or you can simply get a friend to join you and fill the boots of the spare agent.
Other improvements on the tactical series are familiar promises of next-gen graphics, brainy enemies and destructible environments - allowing you to snipe through walls or smash entry points into buildings.
