Call of Duty Elite public beta date
Invitation only.
A private-public beta test for Call of Duty Elite will begin on 14th July, Activision has announced.
Participation will be by invite only.
Invites will be given to gamers playing Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer. No platforms were specified, which suggests a mutli-platform beta test.
Only a portion of Elite features will be testable; the full raft will be reserved for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 this November.
"We are particularly excited about our new service Call of Duty Elite, which we believe will reset the bar for multiplayer and create a connected entertainment community around Call of Duty like nothing else in the industry," commented Eric Hirshberg, the man behind Activision Publishing's mahogany desk.
"Many of the service's key features are free to players of all supported Call of Duty titles, which will elevate fans' multiplayer experience beyond anything currently available in the market."
Call of Duty Elite will include a premium membership gamers can subscribe to for additional benefits. Elite will also come with a host of freebies, which were outlined by Activision this morning.
