Bugbear's Next Car Game pops up on Steam Early Access
After Kickstarter failure.
After an unsuccessful attempt at getting its demolition derby-themed Next Car Game funded via Kickstarter, developer Bugbear has begun selling the title via Steam Early Access.
Next Car Game's crowd-funding campaign had raised just $81,772 of its $350,000 target when Bugbear decided to pull the plug with a week still remaining.
A copy of the game via Steam will cost you £18.99. The current Early Access build includes two playable cars and three tracks.
Alternatively, you can pay £26.99 for the game's Digital Deluxe Edition - this contains an extra car plus wallpapers, a soundtrack and other content "available at a later date".
"Warning: Early access phase is meant to give you a chance to experience the game as it progresses through its development cycle, and the game is still at an early stage," Bugbear wrote.
"As such, it does contain missing features and nasty bugs. Developing the game together with the players gives us a lot more creative freedom, and you get to communicate with the development team to make sure we're making the all-out racing game that you want."
