EA's RotK confirmed for PC, Cube
Hypnos in the developer's chair, or, er, office
IGN reports that EA is courting Hypnos Entertainment to develop the GameCube and PC versions of The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. Hypnos carried out the GameCube ports of The Two Towers and FreekStyle, so their ability to port games is certainly not in question.
The news is based on a job ad recently posted by Hypnos, which asks for a Senior Software Engineer "to join our top-notch team of experienced engineers in building the GameCube and PC versions of EA's Lord of the Rings: Return of the King."
The news that Return of the King (which hasn't been officially unveiled) will hit the PC is particularly pleasing. The Two Towers was eventually only released on the next-gen consoles, allegedly because PC developer Ritual wasn't quick enough with the port.
Return of the King should be on display at E3 in May. We're expecting to see PS2, Xbox, Cube and PC versions by the end of the year.
