Something for the weekend?
If your computer isn't under several feet of water this weekend, you might want to download one of these demos to keep your mind off the rain...
The last week has seen a whole slew of game demos being released, so without further ado... Fans of horned helmets and real ale everywhere will want to check out Human Head's third person Viking flavoured action-adventure game "Rune" (86Mb), while Codemasters and Spanish developers Rebel Act Studios have released a demo of their own third person fantasy action game "Severance : Blade of Darkness" (102Mb). Both demos are well worth a look, although the full version of Rune is on store shelves now, while you will have to wait until early next year for Severance.
One that we haven't come across before is "Venom" (75Mb), a fairly impressive looking first person shooter. The demo includes a pair of single players, as well as some CTF action for multiplayer gaming fans. A demo of the survival horror game " Resident Evil 3 : Nemesis" (73Mb) was also released this week, giving you a taste of the soon-to-be-released PC version of the hit console game. Another escapee from the console world is "MoHo" (70Mb), a decidely odd-ball arcade action game.
Driving fans will want to check out the off-road racer "Screamer 4x4" (32Mb), and if that's not enough for you then why not give " Pro Rally 2001" (30Mb) from UbiSoft a try? And if football is more your thing, EA have released a demo of their latest soccer sim, "FIFA 2001" (20Mb). What can we say, it's a FIFA game - you probably know what to expect anyway, but if you want to be sure then grab the demo!
And last, but definitely not least, Blue Byte have released a demo for their 3D strategy game " Battle Isle : The Andosia War" (67Mb). The demo features three tutorials to get you going, and a full single player scenario to give you a taste of the action. Suck it down! Or something...
