North Carolina Prosecutors Get Findings in Zahra Baker Case

HICKORY, N.C. -- Hickory police say they have given prosecutors their investigation of the death of a 10-year-old disabled girl who was reported missing by her family in October.

Prosecutors received the findings last week in the case of Zahra Baker who police say was killed and her body dismembered.

No one has been charged in her death. Her stepmother has been jailed after police say she wrote a fake ransom note discovered the day Zahra was reported missing.

Hickory Police Chief Tom Adkins says the district attorney will decide what if any charges to pursue in the death of the little girl who used a prosthetic leg and hearing aids as a result of cancer.
