2 Canadian tourists fatally stabbed in NJ robbery

Authorities say a Pennsylvania woman fatally stabbed two Canadian tourists during a botched robbery in Atlantic City.

Forty-four-year-old Antoinette Pelzer initially was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and weapons offenses after being arrested at the scene Monday morning. But Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel says she will likely face more serious charges following the victims' deaths.

Housel says a city police officer who happened to be patrolling in the area witnessed the stabbing and subdued Pelzer. Her hometown wasn't immediately disclosed, but authorities say she may have recently moved to the area.

Pelzer remained jailed without bail Monday night. It wasn't known if she had a lawyer.

The victims, identified only as women ages 47 and 80, were stabbed multiple times in the upper body. Both died at a hospital.
