Man Convicted of Abducting Florida Boy Sentenced to Life in Prison
BRADENTON, Fla. – A man convicted of abducting a teenage boy from his bus stop in southwest Florida two years ago was sentenced to life in prison.
A judge sentenced 25-year-old Vicente Beltran-Moreno Friday.
A jury found him guilty in June of armed kidnapping with a firearm.
In February 2007, Beltran-Moreno forced Clay Moore into a truck and then bound to a tree in a remote field.
Prosecutors say the man intended to collect ransom in the kidnapping.
Moore, who was 13 years old at the time, told authorities he used a safety pin to cut through the shoelaces his abductor used to bind him.
