Probably best known for last year's Sin, the tribesmen over at Ritual are now working on a new brew. Based on the forthcoming movie of the same name, "Heavy Metal : FAKK2" is a third person action-adventure game using the Quake III engine, and is due for release next spring.

Rumours that Freespace 2 has gone gold (as reported on Blue's News) are apparently just that .. rumours. Virgin Interactive, who are publishing the game in Europe, have told us the game is definitely not gold yet, and that the European release date is early November.

The original Battlezone was amongst the first wave of action-strategy hybrids, but despite getting rave reviews its sales were disappointing.

According to this story on The Register, Freeserve will begin testing ADSL in the UK in November. Still no word on how widespread the trial will be or when the full service will go live, but it's more good news for British gamers...
