Doctors Use Springs to Reshape Baby’s Skull

A 10-month-old baby is fully recovered after he underwent cranial surgery to correct an abnormally-shaped head, which caused his skull bones to overlap and fuse together, The Daily Mail reported.

Doctors feared Harry Brown’s misshapen skull would cause neurological problems later on in life.

Surgeons inserted springs into Harry’s head to rebalance the shape of the skull in a two-hour operation, which took place at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. One month later, they operated again to remove the springs.

“Harry’s head was a strange shape when he was born, and you could feel a slight ridge over the seams of his skull bones,” said Harry’s mother, Hannah Bush. “Harry's fine now although we sometimes we look through the photographs and can’t believe what he's come through.”
