Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is the next big season for the battle royale, marking the beginning of a whole new chapter it's always a big event - so what exactly is in store this time around?
Well, you won't have to wait much longer to find out! Epic Games has now revealed both the theme and, more importantly, the release date for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. Reliable leakers over on X (formerly Twitter) have also been hard at work digging out more potential clues for the upcoming season.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 release date
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 will begin on Sunday 1st December and is titled 'Hunters'. We know this thanks to Epic Games announcing the news via the official Fortnite X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday 26th November.
It's important to remember that a new Fortnite season always comes after a period of downtime. At the time of writing, we don't know when this downtime will occur or how long it will be. (Though the Fortnite Status account on X is usually quite good at keeping everyone updated).

Launch Trailer
The Chapter 6 Season 1 launch trailer has recently leaked on X, as shared on a post by ShiinaBR:
The trailer confirms numerous things, including the appearance of Godzilla and what looks like a Big Hero 6 collaboration with a Baymax skin. Also, this trailer gives us the first proper look at the style of the new season map and some of the POIs look really polished - here's to hoping it's a good season start!
Theme
Leaker Wensoing on X posted that Chapter 6 could be themed around Japanese Mythology.
New Biomes
A recent post from FNChiefAko on X shows more possible new biomes for the upcoming season, including a Mystical Forest biome:

- Rivers
- Plains

- Forest
POIs

Augments Return
Leaker Wensoing on X posted that augments may be making a return in the new chapter, but they won't be exactly the same as the ones we so fondly remember.
Animals?
According to leaker Wensoing on X there will be some new furry friends on the chapter 6 map described as 'cat-like' animals. They may be called Sprites and come in three types (water, air and basic).
The function of these critters is still unclear, but it's speculated they're something to do with the Shrine area on the map.
Wensoing recently posted a speculation of what the Sprite creatures could look like, based on a sweet little critter hanging out in some of the official key art:
Winterfest 2024
Reliable leaker ShiinaBR on X posted that Fortnite is currently playtesting something that could be the Winterfest Update for 2024 - they speculated that this event could start on two dates, either Tuesday 10th December or a week later on Tuesday 17th December.
Either way, those dates mean that it will be part of Chapter 6 Season 1 if true - but again this is speculation at the moment.
Godzilla!
Epic Games has revealed that Godzilla will feature in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 as they can be seen quite clearly in the official key art revealed by FortniteGame (the official X account):
Exactly how Godzilla will appear in the new season is a mystery still.
Arena?
Leaker HYPEX on X recently posted that there could be type of arena on the Chapter 6 map where you can go to battle it out with NPCs to earn loot.
Demon Slayer
On X, leaker HYPEX also recently posted that there could be a Demon Slayer collab coming to the next season of Fortnite, though what this actually contains is still a mystery.
Avatar
Leaker ShiinaBR on X recently posted that an Avatar collaboration has been re-confirmed and should be on its way to Fortnite soon, meaning it's likely (if it exists) we'll see it in Chapter 6.
New Skins
ShiinaBR recently posted on X that they'd been recently told that there could be a 'Doctor Doom 2099' skin coming to Fortnite soon. With the current season in its final days, it's fair to assume this will be a Chapter 6 skin if it's real.
