The Brotherhood of Steel Comes to Fallout 76 This December

There's gonna be some drama in the wasteland.

The Brotherhood of Steel is making its Fallout 76 entrance very soon. As part of the Steel Dawn update, the Brotherhood will be coming to the multiplayer Fallout game on Dec. 1, 2020.

Steel Dawn will be the first chapter in a new Brotherhood questline for Fallout 76 players. It's part of a free update, and players will be working with (or possibly against) various Factions of Fallout 76's wasteland to deal with this newfound presence in Appalachian country.

Shown in a new trailer posted today, it looks like the establishing of the Brotherhood of Steel's Appalachian chapter won't come without some drama. Alongside the new questline, new locations and NPCs will be showing up, as well as some powerful new weapons from the Brotherhood's arsenal.

First revealed as part of Bethesda's long-term roadmap for Fallout 76, the Brotherhood should add an interesting dynamic. I mean, if there's one thing the Brotherhood of Steel has been good for in the modern, 3D Fallout lineage, it's been causing a whole lot of trouble for most other factions.

Fallout 76 had a notoriously rough start with its multiplayer-focused take on the nuclear wasteland of Fallout. Over time though, the service game approach has also managed to become an RPG in its own right, and with a line of quests and NPCs centered around the Brotherhood, this could be a big moment for Fallout 76.

It doesn't hurt that Bethesda's game recently became part of Xbox Game Pass either. It's an easier proposition to gamble on a new kind of Fallout when it's already part of your subscription plan.

The Brotherhood of Steel arrives in Fallout 76 on Dec. 1, 2020.
